The Governor of Nagaland, on the advice of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, has allocated portfolios to the cabinet ministers and advisors.

In a notification issued by J Alam, Cabinet Secretary, on 9 March, it stated that the “arrangement would help utilise the vast and practical experience of the Members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly for the benefit of the public at large”.

The list also includes the two women MLAs – Salhoutuonuo Kruse and Hekani Jakhalu Kense – who created history as the first women to be elected to the Nagaland Legislative Assembly.

Chief Minister:

Neiphiu Rio – Finance; P&AR; all important policy issues; and all other portfolios not allotted to any minister.

Deputy Chief Ministers:

TR Zeliang – Planning and Transformation, National Highway

Yanthungo Patton – Home, Border Affairs

Cabinet Ministers:

G Kaito Aye – Roads and Bridges

Jacob Zhimomi – Public Health Engineering, Cooperation

KG Kenye – Power, Parliamentary Affairs

P Paiwang Konyak – Health and Family Welfare

Metsubo Jamir – Rural Development, SIRD

Temjen Imna Along – Tourism, Higher Education

CL John – Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Village Guards

Salhoutuonuo Kruse – Women Resources Development and Horticulture

P Bashangmongba Chang – Housing and Mechanical Engineering
