T Lanusenla Longkumer, Administrator and Returning Officer (RO), Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed that the Urban Local Body (ULB) election is to be held for a member to ward numbers – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 19 – of Kohima municipality with ward numbers – 3, 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 – reserved for women.
A DIPR report informed that the nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or his proposer to the KMC RO Longkumer or Limakumla Pongener, Assistant Returning Officer at the office chamber of the Administrator, KMC office, New Super Market Complex, Kohima between 11 am and 3 pm on any day (other than a public holiday) from 03 April and not later than the 10 April.
The notice also informed that forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid and the nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on 12 and 13th April at the office chamber of Administrator and Returning Officer, KMC office.
The notice further said that notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his proposer or his election agent (who has been authorised in writing by the candidate to deliver it) to the office before 3 pm on 24 April.
In the event of the election being contested, the poll will be taken on 16 May between 7:30 am and 3:30 pm.
