NSCN-K (Yung Aung) has expelled three of its members for their anti-government and anti-Naga activities after falling into the ‘deceptive trap’ of the Indian intelligence and some Pro-India Naga Civil societies, the Ministry Of Information And Publicity (MIP), NSCN/GPRN informed. The expelled members are Nyeiton, Home Kilonser, Maj. Gen. Langnyei, GSO-I, Naga Army and Khampei Opeiham, Chairman, Konyak Region.
In its statement to the press, the faction announced that the ousted members had deliberately challenged the authority of the NSCN/GPRN by organising illegal meetings at GHQ area and spreading wild propaganda whereby creating huge confusion and mistrust among the national workers.
This move comes days after the ‘Naga Army’ had announced its decision to reject the leadership of the president of the party Yung Aung. In an unsigned press release, the ‘Naga Army’ had cited ten reasons to back its decision. It also said that it would continue its service to the nation under the leaderships of Gen Kumchok, Commander-in-Chief and Lt. Gen. Thungching, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Naga Army.

However, the C-in-C and his deputy has denied any involvement in the ‘conspiracy against the President’. In a separate release dated 12 April 2023, Gen Kumchok and Lt. Gen. Thungching denounced ‘the so-called Naga Army meeting on 8/04/2023’ as illegal and unconstitutional and said that the claims and accusations made by Maj. Gen. Langnyeito ‘do not represent the opinion of the Naga army.’
The general and his Lieutenant asserted that the ‘whole Naga army is fully intact and will continue to serve the Naga people under the leadership of President Yung Aung and we will stand by whatever decision taken by the government on this issue.’
Moreover, the MIP, NSCN/GPRN, in its release to the press, accused the three ousted members of having received huge sum of money from the Indian intelligence for their roles in the ‘multi-Crore Nagaland State election scheme’. It further claimed that the men had used the money to bribe national workers ‘to support their hidden conspiracy.’
While blaming ‘India’s never ending brutal policies to divide the Nagas and annihilate our struggle for independence’ for the ongoing commotion, the faction stated that ‘corruption and greed for power on the part of few tainted National workers has often defiled the revere people’s struggle.’
NSCN/GPRN declared that it cannot tolerate incompatible and doubtful national workers and is relieved to be cleansed of the same, even though it is a ‘shame for the struggle’.
‘No Nagas are above the nation, and no National workers are above the party,’ it stated, warning its members against working for ‘anti-people elements’. It also appealed to the general public to be aware of the reality behind the conspiracy.
