The Naga Students’ Union Guwahati has flagged the increasing cases of frauds scamming people in Nagaland with promises of jobs and arrangements of medical services in the biggest city in the northeast.

It stated that despite the Union’s best efforts, Nagas continue to be duped by scammers and requested people in Nagaland not to pay cons who ask for money in advance for services such as job interviews, medical check-up, operation fee, medicine bill, etc.

Further, the students’ body in Guwahati, Assam informed that in this regard, it has set up a helpline to assist Naga people visiting the city looking for jobs and for medical purposes.

The NSUG office will be open 24×7 for any ‘free of cost’ assistance, it stated.
