The Naga Hoho has expressed its deep concern on the prevailing situation in Manipur that has caused loss of precious lives, properties and desecration of religious institutions in the State.

The Hoho has also ‘strongly’ denounced the shoot-at-sight order issued by the Manipur government describing it as ‘a highly dangerous and vindictive approach that violates the principles of democracy and human rights.’

‘The use of force will only escalate the situation and lead to more violence and bloodshed, making it an unsustainable solution to any problem,’ it added and appealed to the Manipur government to rescind the order ‘for peaceful restoration of law and order in the state.’

The Naga Hoho also urged all parties to exercise restraint from any acts of violence or provocation and work towards a peaceful resolution of the issues at hand.

‘We believe that dialogue and constructive engagement are the only effective means to address the underlying issues and prevent further escalation of violence,’ Naga Hoho stated while affirming its solidarity with the people of Manipur in their pursuit of peace and prosperity.
