Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Pratima Bhoumik handed over Appointment Letters to 52 people from Nagaland during the 5th Edition of Rozgar Mela at Imliyanger Memorial Centre (IMC) Hall in Dimapur. 319 appointees from the other states of Northeast also received their Appointment Letters at the event hosted by the Office of the Postmaster General, Northeast Region-II, Dimapur.
Speaking on the occasion as Chief Guest, Pratima Bhoumik said it is a memorable day as 321 youths in the region got the opportunity to go forward in their life towards fulfilling their goals. The Union Minister said that Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation.

Expressing her happiness that there are 67 girls among the 321 appointees today, the MoS said PM Modi has been making efforts to uplift the status of women in the country by providing different schemes and called on the women to avail these schemes for their benefits.
She also lauded the people of Nagaland for electing two women to the State Legislative Assembly in the recent election, citing this as a good example of women empowerment.
Stating that getting a government job should not be the sole aim, the Union Minister called on the women to venture into the field of entrepreneurship by taking the Start-Up schemes. The Union Minister stated that in 2014, there were less than 10 thousand Start-Ups, but today there are 90 thousand. She said the startup India initiative has not only enabled the youth to nurture their innovation and stand on their own feet but are also actively contributing towards the growth of India.
Emphasizing that more developments brings more job opportunities, she said expressed hope that many more Appointment Letters will be handed to the youths of the region in the future Rozgar Melas.
The Union Minister further informed that the newly inducted appointees will also get an opportunity to train themselves through Karmayogi Prarambh, the online orientation course for all new appointees in various Government departments. She said the training will familiarize the new appointees about the nature and system of their job for better performance. She urged the new recruits to be sincere and give their best services in serving the nation.
Earlier, in his welcome address, Postmaster General, Northeast Region-II, Northeast Postal Circle, Som Kamei said the Rozgar Mela being held today is a part of the fulfilment towards the commitment of the government in giving government employment to 10 lakh youths of the country.
The new recruits, selected from across the country, will join various positions and posts like Gramin Dak Sevaks, Commercial-cum-Ticket Clerk, Junior clerk-cum-Typist, Junior Accounts Clerk, Assistant Section Officer, Tax Assistants, Inspectors, and Nursing Officers among others.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Tuesday, distributed over 71,000 Appointment Letters in 45 locations across the country through video conferencing.
