The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has opened registration for Olympic Day Run 2023 which will be conducted as part of the global celebration of Olympic Day on 24 June under the theme “Let’s Move”.
NOA informed that this year’s event is designed to inspire children and youth aged 4 to 16years, aimed at promoting an active lifestyle, promote sportsmanship and celebrate the Olympic spirit.
The event at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima will be held in various race categories catering to different age groups, ensuring an inclusive and engaging experience for all participants.
The race categories are as follows:
30 Meters: 4 years and above – below 6 years (Born after 1st June 2017)
50 Meters: 6 years and above – below 9 years (Born after 1st June 2014)
80 Meters: 9 years and above – below 13 years (Born after 1st June 2010)
100 Meters: 13years and above – below 16years (Born after 1st June 2007)
NOA has requested parents, guardians, schools and sports enthusiasts to actively support and encourage their children’s participation in the event, adding that by joining the Olympic Day Run, young participants will not only engage in physical fitness but also develop lasting friendship and a sense of unity through sports.
The Association also announced that a total cash prize of Rs 50,400 will be awarded to the winners, along with merit certificate from the Nagaland Olympic Association. Each participant will also receive certificate from the International Olympic Committee.
Further, NOA informed that there is no entry fee.
