Hard work pays off, says boy from Kiphire who ranked 6 in HSLC exam

Kiphire: His tutor says the boy always has plenty of questions to ask for his teachers

No matter where you come from, hard work pays off, says a 16-year-old from Kisetong village under Kiphire district. Thsatangpa Sangtam has secured top 6th position in the High School Leaving Certificate Examination 2023 conducted by the Nagaland Board of School Education.

Speaking to Nagaland Tribune, he said, “I invested 2-3 hours daily even during the normal days to make sure I’m ready for the exams”. He says his favourite subject are Science, Mathematics and Social Studies.

A student of Loyola Higher Secondary School, Kiphire since LKG, Thsatangpa will be taking up Arts Stream in the Higher Secondary. He hopes to become an IAS officer some day to serve the people.

Last September, Thsatangpa had won the first prize at the Kiphire District Level Science Seminar 2022.

Kisetong Village Union Kiphire Town felicitates Thsatangpa Sangtam on 27 May 2023

The boy from Kiphire shares that his hobbies are reading books and helping his parents during his free time along with his four younger siblings. Their father is a staff of health and family welfare department while their mother is a homemaker. He also enjoys playing football in his leisure time.

His tutor told Nagaland Tribune that the boy always has plenty of questions to ask for his teachers. “He is very curious and hardworking at all times whether in class or at tuition”, the teacher said, adding that Thsathanpa’s character is “equally impressive.”

On Saturday, the Kisetong Village Union Kiphire Town felicitated Thsatangpa Sangtam for his achievement in Nagaland board examination. The union presented him with certificate and cash.
