The Angami Youth Organisation (AYO) and Angami Students’ Union (ASU) have condemned the vandalization of the Naga Club building in Kohima that houses the offices of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) and Kohima Press Club (KPC).

The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) also urged the law enforcing agencies to ‘immediately arrest the perpetrators and initiate the most befitting action as per the law of the land.’ It stated that Saturday’s act was a ‘direct confrontation’ with the union and that ASU will not tolerate this cowardly barbarism and further warn those perpetrators to immediately surrender itself or bear the brunt of the union, as we will go all out in delivering justice to the NSF and ANCSU.’

ASU further added that the vandalization of the students’ offices during a time when Nagas are celebrating the HSLC and HSSLC results and also when Undergraduate semester exams are underway, can never be pardoned.

‘The Naga Students’ Federation had been the voice and beacon of the Naga people during the most trying and challenging times of the Naga society when all civil/mass based organization are at its lowest ebb or inactive,’ ASU stated and urged all to denounce the act committed by anti-social elements.
