Naga Club has confessed on Sunday that it entrusted youths to demolish the structure of the Naga Club building in the early hours of Saturday. It further explained that its members were not miscreants, but ‘bonafide owner of the land and building’ and therefore ‘the question of vandalizing public property or criminal trespass by unknown miscreants as alleged by the NSF does not arise.’ Rather, Naga Club said that it was the Naga Students’ Federation that was unlawfully and forcefully occupying the Naga Club Building.
The club therefore declared that the FIR filed by NSF was ‘malicious, baseless, misconceived and misleading’ and that the present issue between the club and the federation is a civil issue and should be tried and decided by a Civil Court.
In its letter addressed to the Officer-In-Charge, North Police Station, Kohima, the Naga Club presented its version of the history of the issue and what let to Saturday’s events and requested the OC to ignore the case ‘inorder to allow the matter to be resolved in an appropriate court of law or before an appropriate forum.’ The letter was signed by Kuolachalie Seyie, the club’s president and K Gwanilo Himb, secretary.

2. Land where building stands was donated by Kohima Village to Naga Club.
