The Naga Students Federation (NSF) will hold a sit-in-protest on 29 May after the government failed to nab the culprits in the 24-hour ultimatum given by the NSF.

The NSF today held an official meeting in their vandalized office. The sit-in-protest will start at 9:00 am tomorrow in front of the vandalized NSF office. The NSF office was vandalized in the wee hours of 27 May.

The Nagaland Police on Saturday evening detained the JCB driver who was allegedly involved in the vandalization of the Naga Students Federation (NSF) central office.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to book the culprits within 24 hours, NSF President Kegwayhun Tep told a section of reporters, “Today with the expiration of our 24-hour ultimatum, we have held an official meeting in our office, and of course we have also received verbal communication with the investigating authority, but we are not very satisfied because we have set 24 hours that the culprits should be booked.”

Reacting to the police detaining JCB driver involved in the vandalization, the NSF president said, “We have officially communicated with the officer in charge who is taking care of the investigation, but until and unless the report has come to light in black and blue, we cannot justify or say that the investigation is over, or for that matter, the culprits are arrested, which is why we have decided to agitate in the form of a sitting protest.”

The NSF has also sought support from all the federating units, subordinate bodies, and other frontal organizations and appealed to all the conscious Naga leaders to be part of this journey. “If there is no justice, NSF will change its course of action.” The NSF president said.

Speaking on the eviction notice to NSF served by Naga club, K Tep said, “We have received 45 days vacation notice and it has already expired long back and we were informed by the Deputy Commissioner office that they have written to the Deputy Commissioner that they are going to organise social work in our office on May 13, but with the intervention of the authority they did not come. So, from that day onwards things were very silent and we as a NSF family, we did not anticipate that such vandalization in the form of terrorism act will be acted upon in this manner.”
