The 6th Inter-Departmental Badminton Championship 2023 was organised by Wokha District Sports Council on 26 and 27 May 2023 at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Wokha, DIPR stated. 45 players from 12 departments participated in the championship.

Following are the results of the championship:

Women’s single: Champion – Nsungbeni (DSO); Runner’s Up – Khumjano (DEF)

Women’s double: Champions – Alice & Tiarenla (Education); Runner’s Up -Bendangrenla & Mhonlumi (CMO)

Mix double: Champions – Nsungbeni & Libemo (DSO); Runner’s up – Nzantso & Alice (Education)

Men’s single: Champion – Roben (Education); Runners up – Shanjothung (Administration) and Men’s double: Champions – Benathung & Ashonthung (7th NAP); Runners up – Sedevizo & Libemo (DSO)

Chief Medical Office was adjudged the Best Discipline Team of the 6th Inter-Departmental Badminton Championship 2023.

Deputy Commissioner, Wokha Ajit Kumar Ranjan IAS and CH John Zeliang, Head of Plan, DHEP, Wokha graced the inaugural and closing ceremony of the badminton championship.
