The newly constructed Angami morung cum conference hall and library of Angami Students’ Union (ASU) was inaugurated by president, Angami Public Organisation (APO), Razouvotuo Chatsu during a programme at the Old Minister’s Hill, here on Wednesday.
Chatsu in his speech congratulated the union for being able to construct the new infrastructures which would not only cater to the needs of the students community but would also provide a space for the general public to gain knowledge as well.
He lauded the union calling it a respected organisation which had displayed good leadership over the years by adding respectable members to the society who had occupied various positions and was making positive contributions to the society. Chatsu added that the union was visionary for coming up with the library and morung which would aid in preserving the culture and traditional practices of the community.
The APO president also stressed on the need to remember the legacy and contributions passed on by the past leaders and through whose dedication and efforts the present leaders could carry out the good deeds.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Angami Students’ Union art & cultural secretary, Azha Mezhü while Pastor, Jotsoma Baptist Church, Rev Zakiebeinyü Peseyie invoked God’s blessings.
ASU president, Bisevi Nakhro delivered the keynote address and vice president, Kevilelhou Zumu proposed the vote of thanks. Seyiekru Cultural Troupe from Rüsoma presented a special number.
