The Lotha Youth Hoho (LYH) has extended its support to the Joint Action Committee (JAC), Wokha Village Youth Organization (WVYO) with regard to the 2-lane road construction project National Highway 2 (formerly NH 61) from 72.40 km to 83.00 km traversing through District Hq. Wokha Town.
In a press release, LYH acknowledge the JAC, WWYO for taking ‘bold initiative’ and assured its full cooperation.
It has also appealed to all right-thinking citizens and organizations of Wokha district to render all possible help and co-operation to the ongoing road construction project NH 2.
The Lotha Youth Hoho has further requested the district administration, PWD(NH) and Contractor TTC infra India to resolve the matter at the earliest for the common welfare of the public as per the Detailed Project Report (DPR).
Earlier, WVYO had brought to light issues related to the construction of road and demanded that the concerns be addressed for the convenience and safety of the public. Accordingly, an inspection along NH 61 in the village jurisdiction was conducted by the JAC, District Administration, concerned department, and contractor on 20 May 2023.
The Lotha Hoho has also extended support to WVYO for its initiative which it stated is for the ‘common good of the Lotha Tribe, in particular and the people of Wokha district, in general’ and appealed all from the community and the district to cooperate with the body.
