The three-day Summer Camp for Arju Centres organized by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) under the aegis of Samagra Shiksha Nagaland commenced on Friday at Fazl Ali College in Mokokchung with the objective to help students to explore different subjects and develop their skills in a supportive and engaging environment.
The summer camp will provide hands-on lessons on various fields, including astrophysics, green audit, livestock farming, writing skills, teaching math, and cultural activities. The resource persons for the camp are Dr Abhijit Borah and I N Moa Jamir.

On the first day of the AKM Summer Camp, the students were introduced to the field of Astrophysics. Over 60 delegates from the twelve Arju Centres are participating in the camp along with ten mentors. The centres include Mangmetong, Longkhum, Longjang, Süngratsü, Merangkong, Mongsenyimti, Yajang C, Aonokpu, Waromung, Mongchen, Longpayimsen, and Moayimti village.
Arju Centres were established under the Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM) and are part of the Nagaland Education Mission Society, Samagra Shiksha, Nagaland. The objective of the centres is to help students discover and develop their skills beyond bookish knowledge and grades. It aims to promote culture, traditions, and the development of life skills for their future prospects.
P. Tia Molier, Sentilong Ozukum, and Lanurenla serve as the three advisors of the Arju Centres.
On the first day, the students arrived and registered at Sophia Hostel, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung. The introduction and icebreaker session were conducted by Lima Jamir, Associate Pastor Youth, Impur Baptist Church. The District Education Office has also paid on the opening day of the Summer Camp.
