The weeklong 1st Inter School Tournament organised by Aboi Town Students Union (ATSU) concluded on 11 July at the public ground in Aboi, Mon.

According to DIPR, the closing ceremony was graced by Teisovise Metha, Commandant of the 11 NAP (IR) Battalion, Aboi. In his address, he lauded ATSU for organizing the tournament and highlighted its visionary nature, providing opportunities for young individuals to develop quality sportsmanship. He emphasized the importance of discipline in all aspects of life and encouraged the participants to showcase their strengths through participation.

The tournament saw participation from 13 schools and featured various games categorized as follows:

Boys: Football, Volleyball, and Marathon race (Senior & Junior category)

Girls: Volleyball

Boys & Girls: Badminton (Singles and Mixed Doubles)

In the football event, Government Higher Secondary School Aboi emerged victorious with a 4-2 win in a penalty shootout against Longshang Memorial School Aboi.

In women’s volleyball, Government Higher Secondary School claimed the championship, with Government Middle School finishing as the runners-up.

Wangka School secured the top spot in men’s volleyball, followed by St. John School as the runners-up.

The ATSU tournament that began on 6 July concluded with a display of grace and discipline among all participants.
