Health and Wellness Sub-Centre Inaugurated in Totok Chingha, Mon District for Enhanced Healthcare Services”

Marking a pivotal step towards bolstering healthcare accessibility, the Health and Wellness Sub-Centre of Totok Chingha in Mon district was inaugurated by Mankhao Konyak, MLA. This significant event underscored the commitment to enhancing the health and wellness infrastructure in the region.

Addressing the gathering at the inauguration, Mankhao Konyak, MLA, emphasized the importance of utilizing the specialized medical services provided by the Government. He urged the community to not only avail these services but also shoulder the responsibility of supporting health workers during various health-related activities. This mutual cooperation, he stressed, would contribute to the overall well-being of the community.

Vezokholu Theyo, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Mon, took the podium to highlight the core objectives of the health and wellness centre. She emphasized its role in providing preventive, promotive, curative, palliative, and other essential services. The centre’s primary goal, she elaborated, is to mitigate morbidity and mortality within the population by offering comprehensive health care.

Theyo also outlined the comprehensive range of Ayushman Bharat Health and wellness services that the centre is equipped to provide. These encompass a wide array of services, including care during pregnancy and child-birth, neonatal and infant health care, family planning, management of communicable and non-communicable diseases, oral health care, mental health services, and more.

Highlighting the significance of these services, Theyo drew attention to the population statistics from the 2011 census. She revealed that among the population of 1221, children aged 0-5 years constituted 14% of the deaths, translating to 175 children. Urging the community to seek timely medical consultations and avail health services from the sub-centre, she emphasized the importance of proactive health care.

Nyangpong Konyak, Head GB, and Nyemtong Konyak Village Council Chairman, as well as T/Omlem, added their voices to the event through short speeches. T Haingam Konyak chaired the program, Langnyei Konyak pronounced the invocation, T phongnyei Konyak Village Council Chairman delivered the welcome address, and Khanjai Angh conveyed the vote of thanks.

The inauguration of the Health and Wellness Sub-Centre in Totok Chingha stands as a testament to the collective commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and ensuring the well-being of the community.
