The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB), on Wednesday, gave its preliminary for approval of Local Area Development Programme (LADP) 2023-24, DIPR informed. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Advisor for Prison, Printing & Stationery, Er. Kropol Vitsu at the DPDB’s Conference Hall in Kohima
At the meeting, Er. Vitsu emphasized the importance of LADP, which compiles various developmental activities and schemes in alignment with the guidelines set by the Planning Department. He encouraged all members to actively engage in their respective areas to facilitate holistic development within the district.
MLA Kevipodi Sophie stressed on the prudent utilization of LADP funds to ensure the successful execution of the program. He further stressed that the verification committee should collaborate with elected members whenever necessary.
Additionally, the board discussed the registration of societies, recommending the following societies to the government for further action: Nagaland Police Family Welfare (Old Minister’s Hill, Kohima), Dzüleke Eco-Tourism Board (Dzüleke Village, Kohima), Nagaland Handball Association (Khikha Rüleizou, Kohima), and Alumni Association, St Joseph’s College (Jakhama). For the Nagaland Dental Welfare Association (Peraciezie, High School Junction Kohima), the board decided to review the matter for further clarification.
Administrator of Kohima Municipal Council (KMC), Lanusenla L. Peseyie, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the council’s activities.
The next DPDB meeting will feature a presentation from the Veterinary Department.
