In a press release issued today, the Mokokchung District Volleyball Association (MDVA) unveiled exciting details about the upcoming 16th Imchaba Master Memorial Nagaland Open Volleyball Trophy 2023.The tournament, set to be a showcase of skill and sportsmanship, is scheduled to take place from 19th to 22nd September 2023.

The MDVA, an organization dedicated to fostering the spirit of sports and community in Mokokchung, Nagaland, will host the event which carries the motto “Endure all to gain all.”

As a testament to its commitment to promote volleyball in the region, the MDVA announced substantial cash prizes for the winners. The champion will be awarded an impressive cash prize of Rs. 80,000/-, while the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd runner-up will receive Rs. 50,000/-, Rs. 30,000/-, and Rs. 20,000/- respectively.

The accolades don’t stop there, with individual awards of Rs. 5,000/- each for the Best Spiker, Best Setter, and Player of the Tournament.

Participating teams, excluding the final four, will also benefit, as they are set to receive a participation grant of Rs. 5,000/- each. Teams traveling from outside Mokokchung District will have their traveling expenses compensated, underlining the MDVA’s inclusive approach.

Aspiring teams, clubs, and associations looking to make their mark on the court are invited to collect entry forms from designated locations including Lim Counter Kohima, Mokokchung, and Dimapur. The entry forms will be available from August 23, 2023. Those interested must ensure their entry forms are submitted by the deadline of September 15th, 2023.
