In an unfortunate incident this morning, a night bus named “Blue Hill” enroute from Guwahati to Mokokchung, encountered an accident around 7 A.M. near Changtongya Town. The bus was carrying 10 passengers and the driver at the time of the incident.

The accident occurred at Longchara – PWD ward Junction, when the bus collided into a wall and subsequently tipped sideways. Thankfully, the immediate response and first aid provided on the spot ensured that the injuries sustained by four passengers were minor. Reports suggest that these injured individuals are currently in stable condition and receiving appropriate medical attention.

Upon receiving information about the incident, local residents promptly alerted the Changtongya Police Station. Officer in-charge Posehu Kezo and his team arrived swiftly at the scene to conduct a thorough inspection and investigation. During their interactions with the driver, it was revealed that the accident was caused by a steering failure that resulted in the bus losing control.

Authorities are taking all necessary measures to ensure the well-being of the injured passengers and effectively manage the aftermath of the accident.
