On the occasion, Nagaland Congress released a statement where it lauded Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for embarking on the historic Bharat Jodo Yatra on 7th September 2022 “that essentially transformed the course of politics in our Country.” It mentioned that the 136 days yatra covered 4,081 kms, 12 States and 2 Union Territories, 75 districts and 76 Lok Sabha constituencies and left behind an indelible impression on people’s minds.
Nagaland Congress said that the Karnataka’s election result, post the yatra, was “a classic manifestation of the people’s collective wish of bringing Congress party back to power.”
During the Bharat Jodo Yatra, Gandhi had exchanged and shared his views with crores of fellow countrymen, through more than 100 sitting group interactions, 275 planned walking interactions, 100 corner meetings, 13 massive public meetings, 12 press conferences and countless spontaneous meetings across the length and breadth of the country, it said. The yatra addressed the burning issues of the country, including back-breaking price rise, unprecedented unemployment, cronyism, divisive politics, brazen threat to national security by the Chinese aggression.
Nagaland Congress stated that Gandhi’s grit and determination to save the very idea of India was unnerving BJP and was restoring a sense of democracy. It also hoped that the “ripple effect of the yatra will continue to show its impact on all the upcoming state level and centre elections and pave way to restore the glory of our grand old party.”
