The Nagaland Police Family Welfare Organisation inaugurated an Amul Parlour today at the Police Headquarters Kohima.
The project was launched by Kaisa Rio, Lady Wife of Nagaland’s Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio. In brief speech, Rio mentioned that milk and dairy products comprise of a considerable portion of our daily diet and because of its rich nutritional content and the high source of protein that it provides.
“It is good to know that the profits of this feature will be visualizing the welfare activities of police personnel and their families,” said Rio expressing her sincere appreciation, and congratulating the members of the Nagaland Police Family Welfare Organization for initiating the project. Rio expressed optimism that the project will go a long way in income generation which can be used for the members who need it most, and that these services will be used for the betterment of the police family and public at large.
Vinita Sharma, President, Nagaland Police Family Welfare Organisation, in her project report commended and thanked the efforts of all the previous DGPs wives, especially the ones who initiated the organization. She added that each one of them contributed to this welfare through different activities, and incorporated their ideas into the system.
“All of us in the districts and in the units, we all have our small units which function as family welfare so each one of them decide what is to be done as a family,” said Sharma sharing that various activities are carried out such financial literacy programs, culinary skill training, medical awareness camps. Sharma also informed that recently, with the efforts of the young officers’ wives, the organization made a PPT presentation on health care including pre and post natal Care, mental health and circulated it to the districts.

Sharing a brief history about the inception of the project, Sharma expressed her gratitude to the Amul team for making it possible for the welfare to generate revenue through this project which will in turn go to the welfare fund.
“This project was possible because of the joint effort and hard work of her team,” added Sharma inviting the public to visit their parlour and get the best service possible.
The inaugural was chaired by IPS, DIG(P&D) Jatila while the closing remark and vote of thanks was pronounced by Polem. R.Apokla blessed the program with a prayer.
