The Tuensang District Legal Services Authority organized an awareness program on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 at the CTS Conference Hall in Tuensang on the 23rd September 2023, DIPR informed.

During the event, Thungchanbemo Tungoe, ADC Tuensang, in his address on “Remedies for Hazardous Waste” urged the public to segregate hazardous wastes from other types of wastes for proper disposal through the Town Council. ADC Tungoe emphasized the importance of changing our mindset and taking the initiative to segregate waste at home by using three separate bins for waste disposal.

He also encouraged the public to collect plastic bottles as the Town Council is willing to purchase them.

Antimangyang Chang, a Retainer Lawyer, provided insights into the Act on the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016, enhancing the understanding of the regulations among the attendees.

The program saw active participation from representatives from all wards in Tuensang Town. Yemlongchaba, Panel Lawyer for TDLSA, chaired the event.
