The Office of the Deputy Commissioner and the District Election Office in Mokokchung, in collaboration with the Nagaland Sports Association (NSA), organized a two-day free football coaching cum facilitation program as part of the systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative.” The event took place at Imkongmeren Sports Complex from 29th September and will conclude on the 30th of September 2023.

The primary aim of this initiative was to raise awareness among participants regarding their enrollment in the electoral roll and facilitate on-the-spot enrollment for all eligible individuals.

The formal inaugural program on 29th September 2023, featured ADC Mokokchung, Chumlamo Humtsoe, addressing the gathering.

He emphasized that the Election Commission of India (ECI) launched the SVEEP initiative to promote electoral awareness among young voters while simultaneously enhancing their football knowledge and skills through football coaching sessions provided by SVEEP.

The program was presided over by Assistant District Election Officer Mokokchung, Renben Mozhui. The event began with an invocation prayer led by Dr. Tiameren, a lecturer at CTC Aolichen, followed by an inspirational song performance by students from CTC.
