ECI releases General Election poll dates for five states: Counting for all states on 3 Dec

New Delhi: All Assembly Constituencies in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan to conduct polling on 7th November

The Election Commission of India has released the dates for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana. The polling dates vary for the States and will begin on 7th November 2023, while the date of counting has been kept the same, 3rd December 2023.

In a press release, ECI stated that the schedule had been made after considering all relevant aspects like climatic conditions, academic calendar, board examination, major festivals, prevailing law and order situation in the State, availability of Central Armed Police Forces, time needed for movement, transportation and timely deployment of forces and in-depth assessment of other relevant ground realities.

Chhattisgarh

2,03,80,079 voters will poll in 24,109 polling stations in the Chhattisgarh General Election in two phases. Of the 90 seats, 10 seats are reserved for SCs and 29 are reserved for STs. 20 ACs will go for voting on 7th November while the remaining 70 ACs will vote on 17th November 2023 in Phase-II.

Mizoram

Polling will take place in all 40 Assembly Constituencies in Mizoram in a single phase on 7th November. 39 seats in the State are reserved for STs. There are a total 8,56,868 voters and 1,276 in the Northeastern state.

Madhya Pradesh

Voting in all the 230 Assembly Constituencies in Madhya Pradesh will be conducted on 7th November 2023 where 35 seats are reserved for SCs and 47 seats for SCs. There are 5,61,36,229 voters and 64,523 polling stations.

Rajasthan

5,26,80,545 voters in all 200 Assembly Constituencies will poll on 7th November to send their representatives to the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly. Of the total 200 seats, 34 are reserved for SCs and 25 are reserved for STs. There are 51,756 polling stations in the State.

Telangana

ECI has scheduled a single day, 30th November, for all the 119 Assembly Constituencies for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Telangana. The 3,17,32,727 voters will cast their votes in 35,356 polling stations. Of the 119 seats, 19 are reserved for SCs and 12 for STs.
