The Nagaland Toolsroom and Training Centre (NTTC) sponsored by Micro Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) conducted a one-day training workshop for the benefits of the students at Sao Chang College campus, Tuensang on Tuesday.
The training focused on special skills development through banana fibre.
Jingkitsala Sangtam, Trainer of Nagaland Toolsroom & Training Centre (NTTC), highlighted on the topic of ‘banana fibre extraction of handicrafts’ where she encouraged all the students to make used of Banana fibres for weaving purposes.

Sangtam also urged the students to participate in the training for 6 weeks, where upon completion of their course, the trainees will receive certificate which will be helpful for their entrepreneurship skills and development purpose.
The trainers trained the students on extraction fibres of banana stem cutting, cleaning, drying them into strands and soaking them to create ropes inorder to make vegetables and fruits basket etc. The entire preparatory process helped the students to manipulate the banana leaves during weaving. More than 30 students participated in the skill development training.
