Three charity matches were played at the Loyem Memorial Astro-Turf Ground, Tuensang, on Friday to raise funds for a new bus for Sao Chang College, Tuensang. The football matches were organised by Chang Wedoshi Setshang (CWS) and Chang Sports Association (CSA) on the rest day of 31st Loyem Memorial Trophy, a day before the big final between Nyaklangbou Sector Youth Fellowship and Son Kuk Laang FC.
Dongching Yangmai Saoshoung and Loyem Memorial Trophy Organisers (Women’s Team) went head-to-head in the first exhibition match for the noble cause with DYS winning the match 4-0.

In the second match played between DC XI vs TTBL XI ended in a draw. Both the teams scored four goals each. The third friendly match was played between Loyem Memorial Trophy Organisers (Men’s Team) and All wards Union Tuensang Town where LMT Organisers scored 4 goals and All wards Union Tuensang Town have scored 3 goals.
T S Puchoi, General Secretary, Sao Chang College Students Union, on behalf of the students of the college thanked CWS and CSA for organizing the fund raiser for the benefit of the college. “We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the NGO’s and all the individuals who have contributed time and financial support to college. We are so thankful to all the well wishers, which will help us to purchase new bus and able to reduce our transportation problems, it is a must in present situation,” Puchoi said in his message.
It may be mentioned that the SCCSU and CWS had created a stir in the State over several issues concerning students of Sao Chang College, the only Government college in Tuensang district. One of the main demands of the unions was for the government to improve the commute of the students.

Chongshenmongba Chang, a student from Sao Chang College, Tuensang expressed appreciation to CWS and CSA for their dedication and commitment to the future of the students. “There are many we meet who are just passing through, and then there are few, who stay to pull us through,” he stated.
The student said that the noble and inspiring initiative was truly commendable and thanked the organisers for the “unwavering” support to the college and its students.
“Your selfless contributions and supports have not only made this event enjoyable but also paved the way for a brighter future for the students. Generosity and community spirit are shining example for many youths and communities where organizations can come together to make a positive impact on education and students’ lives,” Chongshenmongba said.
