Liike Kibama has won Silver Medal in Tanding Female Class 55-60 kg category in Pencak Silat, giving Nagaland its second medal at the ongoing 37th National Games being held in Goa.
This is also the second medal for the Naga athlete. She was part of the women’s Regu Pencak Silat team that won a Bronze Medal. The Nagaland Pencak Silat team is coached by Deep Kumar while Kashito Kiba is the team manager.
Expressing his happiness, Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio took to X (previously Twitter) and announced, “Second Medal for Nagaland. Congratulations to Nagaland’s Ms. Liike Kibami for winning her second medal at the National Games in Goa. She wins Silver Medal in Tanding category in Pencak Silat.”
Adviser to CM and Secretary general of Nagaland Olympic Association, Abu Metha also posted on X, “Girl Power Continues !! Another Medal for Nagaland ! Fantastic News !”
Pencak Silak is making its debut at the 37th National Games in Goa. Pencak Silat is an Indonesian fighting sport which collectively encompasses martial arts of various styles. This form of fighting involves, striking, grappling techniques, and throwing.
An eleven-member contingent is representing Nagaland at the 37th National Games.
