Nagaland’s Chef de Mission to the National Games, Neiyalie Angami on Sunday received the National Games Honorary Medal which was bestowed on him by the organizing committee and the Government of Goa. This was announced by the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) in a post on X.
Neiyalie Angami is a former sportsperson, a retired Government Sports Official, and a seasoned sports administrator, who is currently leading Nagaland’s team at the National Games
According to the NOA, Angami’s contributions to ‘the sports community are truly remarkable’.
“Nagaland’s Chef de Mission to the National Games, Shri. Neiyalie Angami, received well-deserved recognition from the National Games organizers. He played a pivotal role in awarding prizes to the victorious athletes during the Medal Ceremony. In a momentous gesture of appreciation, the organizing committee and the Government of Goa bestowed upon Mr. Neiyalie the National Games Honorary Medal,” stated the Nagaland Olympics Association.

The National Games 2023, Is India’s own multi-sport event inspired by the Olympics which is running its 37th edition this year.
Currently underway from October 26 to November 9, Goa is hosting the National Games this year in five Goan cities – Mapusa, Margao, Panjim, Ponda and Vasco. Sportspersons from 28 states, eight Union Territories and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB) are participating in the National Games 2023.
