The Deputy Commissioner, Mon, Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS has announced some directives in the district in view of the Mon-Tizit maintenance work. These new directives will be effective for one week starting 3rd November 2023, DIPR has informed.
In order to avoid hindrance and inconvenience and to ensure the smooth execution of the ongoing maintenance work, the DC notified that-
1. All types of vehicles including private and public transportation are prohibited from using the Longwa junction to private station traffic point from 6pm to 6am.
2. The public/ vehicles owners are strictly prohibited from parking their vehicles along the same stretch mentioned in the ongoing road maintenance work.
3. The residents/shop owners along the stretch mentioned above are also directed to remove any hindrances that may obstruct the ongoing project such as water pipes, stone boulders, temporary sheds, construction materials, etc along the right of way (ROW) by 4th Nov 2023.
The DC further appealed the Ward authorities (GBs & Ward Chairman) of Thamnan Ward, Jahjon Ward, Chingai Ward and Santham Ward in Mon to assist the District Administration, Police and the line department of Mon in monitoring the implementation of the order.
The public of Mon and vehicle owners were requested to co-operate and adhere to the traffic directives to ensure successful and timely completion of the Mon-Tizit road maintenance project.
