Naga Tennis player Metba K Phom has recently been appointed as a Coach at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in Dubai.

Congratulating Phom on X, the Nagaland Olympic Association today posted, “Naga tennis star Metba K Phom lands a prestigious coaching role at the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy in Dubai. From AITA player to coach, his journey symbolizes dedication. He’s grateful for the opportunity and extends thanks to Sania Mirza, Fahad, and the UAE Tennis Federation. Wishing him continued success in this new chapter!”

Metba’s tennis journey started in 2006, where he was chosen for the National Tennis Academy training by the Nagaland Lawn Tennis Association. He represented the All India Tennis Association in various tournaments. Phom’s appointment as coach at the Academy is a two-year contract including visa sponsorship.
