Keletsole Mekro from Dainty Buds Higher Secondary School, Kohima won the first prize in the Essay Competition organised by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN). The event took place at Bloom Bazaar on 10th and 11th November 2023, and was sponsored by the Department of Under Development Areas (DUDA), Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Nagaland coffee, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare (DHF).
IDAN informed that thirteen schools participated in the Essay Competition, where students explored the theme “Landscape of Floriculture Industry in Nagaland.” The judging panel, featuring Veralu Vero from Sazolie College, Kohima, and Tsutipang Jamir from Don Bosco College (DBC), brought expertise to the evaluation process.
The Essay Competition was hosted by Namang T Chang, Consultant at IDAN, and the award ceremony was presided over by Reny Wilfred (IAS), Joint Secretary Finance Department & IDAN, Government of Nagaland.
Winners of the Essay Competition:
– 1st place: Keletsole Mekro from Dainty Buds Hr. Sec. School, Kohima, received a Rs. 10,000 cash award & Gift Hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
– 1st Runner Up: Limvishi S from Mount Carmel Hr. Sec. School, Kohima, secured a Rs. 5,000 cash award & Gift Hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
– Consolation Winners: Tangsoi from Animation & Graphic Academy, Henminthang Haulai from Unnati Skill Center, and Kevinuo from Fernwood School, each received a Rs. 1,000 cash award & Gift Hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
On 11th November 2023, thirty-one participants engaged in the Art Competition with the theme “Flora of Nagaland,” displaying exceptional critical thinking and creativity, IDAN said in a press release.
The Art Competition was hosted by Imtisenla Jamir, Executive Assistant and Administrator at Modern Myriad Branding Pvt Ltd. The judging panel, featuring Among Venuh, a full-time artist with 8 years of experience in fine arts, and Vivo Mor, a self-taught artist inspired by the old masters of Classical realism, brought a distinct perspective to the event.
Winners of the Art Competition are:
– 1st Prize: Ditube Iheilung, who received a Rs. 10,000 cash award & Gift Hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
– 1st Runner Up: Methshing H Phom, who received a Rs. 5,000 cash award & Gift Hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
– Consolation Winners: Pallavi, Sharva, and Nounegutuo Khezhie, each received a Rs. 1,000 cash award & Gift Hamper from Bloom Bazaar Merch & Nagaland Coffee.
Excitingly, the winning art pieces will be on permanent display at the Art Gallery at Bloom Bazaar, accessible to the public every weekend. This decision ensures a lasting celebration of the participants’ creativity.
