Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Tuesday announces Assam as the Partner State of the 24th Hornbill Festival. In a post on X, Rio expressed his gratitude to Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma for making the partnership a reality.
“I am happy to announce Assam as Partner State of the Hornbill Festival. We look forward to welcoming cultural and music ambassadors from the amazing state of Assam. I am confident that our partnership with Assam will further enhance and strengthen the age-old bonds between the Assamese and Naga people”, Rio further said in his post.
Hon’ble Chief Minister, it is an absolute privilege for Assam to join hands with Nagaland for the upcoming Hornbill Festival.

In reply, Sarma said that the Hornbill Festival has “emerged as one of the greatest platforms to showcase the shared cultural heritage of North East” and conveyed that it is an “absolute privilege for Assam to join hands with Nagaland” for the upcoming edition.

Assam’s Chief Minister Office also confirmed on X that a delegation of cultural performers and artists will be representing the State at the ‘Festival of Festivals’.
The 24th Hornbill Festival will be held on 1st to 10th December 2023.
