Nagaland Governor La Ganesan emphasized the importance of comprehensive student development in both academic excellence and cultural understanding for a progressive society. He was speaking at the 32nd Annual Day Program of St. Mary Higher Secondary School, Dimapur, DIPR informed.
In his address, Governor La Ganesan also highlighted the pivotal role of education in the nation’s growth and prosperity and praised institutions like SMHSS Dimapur for being beacons of knowledge, shaping the minds of the youth who will play a crucial role in the future of the country.
According to DIPR, he expressed his thrill at witnessing the performances and achievements showcased during the event and commended the hard work, dedication, and passion displayed by the students. Governor La Ganesan also encouraged each student to embrace the opportunity to learn, grow, and showcase their talents, reminding them that the future rests in their capable hands. He urged everyone to celebrate the day with joy, appreciating shared heritage and leaving with a renewed sense of responsibility toward society and the nation.

Dr Neena Dutta, Principal, SMHSS Dimapur, shared that the school started as a small dream in 1991, with just twelve students and three teachers. The school was inaugurated on 20th January 1991, blessed by late Hokishe Sema and S.I. Jamir, and affiliated under the CBSE Board since 2020.
She highlighted the school’s pioneering efforts in starting the first section for mentally challenged children, supported by trained and dedicated teachers. The Principal attributed the success and reputation of the school to the dedication, hard work, and high qualifications of the teachers.
