The Eastern Sumi Hoho (ESH) officially affiliated with the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO), the umbrella entity representing the seven tribes of Eastern Nagaland on Thursday at a program held at CKS Hall, Tuensang. The event commenced with Presidential Speech from Tsapikiu Sangtam who also formally declared the affiliation.
The Special Guests of the event were G Kaito Aye, Minister of Roads and Bridges; CL John, Minister of Forest, Environment & Climate Change and Village Guards; C Kipili Sangtam. MLA and Chairman, Kiphire DPDB; Imtichoba Chang, MLA and Chaiman, Tuensang DPDB.
All the special guests welcomed the affiliation and stressed on the importance of unity, co-operation, supporting each other and togetherness.

“Unity is strength”, Minister G Kaito Aye quoted, saying that the unity will create harmony and strengthen the Eastern people.
MLA Kipili Sangtam appreciated the ENPO and Eastern Sumi Hoho for initiating such historical discussion among the leaders. He urged the ESH to have faith and walk together for the upliftment of ENPO and work as one for betterment development at the right time. Sangtam stated that in various departments well qualified people are handling the issues faced by the people in Eastern Nagaland. The MLA then quoted, “Without formula there is no family and without system there is no government”.
Minister CL John said that the Nagas came together as a nation because of Christianity.
MLA Imtichoba Chang said we must live together as brothers or perish alone as fools. He also called for unity and cooperation among Eastern people.
Tokishe Sumi, President, Eastern Sumi Hoho said that the Sumi people had existed with ENPO for a long time and hoped that the communities will live well, peacefully and spread unity in diversity among them.
Short speeches were also delivered by President of United Sangtam Likhüm Pümji; Throngso, President, Yimkhiung Tribal Council on behalf of all tribal presidents; President, Eastern Nagaland Gazetted Officers Association on behalf of the presidents of all frontal organisations.
Prayer of “Thanksgiving, Guidance and Commitment” for the affiliation was led by Chang Baptist Lashong Tuensang (CBLT).
