Black Day to be observed in entire ENPO area on Tuesday in remembrance of Oting victims

Mon: Solemn prayer program with 14 Black flags to be held in respective headquarters

The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) will observe Black Day on 5 December to commemorate the 14 lives that were lost in a botched operation by security forces in a case of “mistaken identity” on this day in 2021 and in subsequent clashes between the security personnel and civilians the following day at Oting village in the state’s Mon district. One security personnel was also killed in the violence.

As per the directive from ENPO, Konyak Union Executive Council held a meeting in Mon district this evening and resolved to continue with the observation of Black Day.

“We will have Black Day in the entire ENPO area tomorrow with 14 Black flags and prayer meeting in respective headquarters,” said Konyak Union Vice President H.A. Hongnao Konyak.

All Konyak civil societies and the public shall gather at Konyak Union office, Mon at 10 AM tomorrow where, a short program will be held.
