The Department of Economics and Statistics, Government of Nagaland on Tuesday released seven reports under the Sub-Scheme of Support for Statistical Strengthening (SSS) Sub-Scheme. On the occasion Advisor for Economics & Statistics, IT&C and Evaluation, H. Sethrongkyu Sangtam congratulated the department and remarked that it was a highly successful day, DIPR said.

Speaking as the Special Guest at the DES Conference Hall, Kohima, Sangtam underscored the importance of accurate data for effective implementation of any department and emphasized the crucial role of the Economics and Statistics Department. He urged officers and staff to discharge their duties with sincerity and at the same time also pledged his continuous support to the department and acknowledged the historic achievement of releasing such a volume of reports in one go.

The Advisor expressed hope that the released publications would greatly assist the state government and the people of Nagaland in formulating policies.

The reports released on 12th December 2023 are: Type Study on Other Services Sector in Nagaland, Study on Price for GSDP/DDP Estimation, Survey on Urban Waste Management in Nagaland, Thematic Study on Cost of Cultivation on Major Crops & Agriculture Product Pricing at District Level, Survey on Minor Minerals in Nagaland, Methodological Development for improving SDP and DDP, and District-Wise Projected Population of Nagaland from 2021 to 2030.

The program was chaired by Charles Nchumthung Kikon, Additional Director, Economics and Statistics, with opening reports presented by Neidilhou Angami, Director, E&S. A short speech was delivered by Mohammad Ali Shihab A, IAS, Secretary to the Government of Nagaland. A special number was performed by KM.P. Themshao, and the vote of thanks was offered by Neisatuo Puro, Additional Director, E&S.
