The Women Veteran Club has won the 11th Women Volleyball Tournament at Longleng, organized by the District Administration and the District Hub for Empowerment of Women Longleng under the initiative of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) Scheme, in collaboration with Phenei Soti Club under the theme “Celebrating Womenhood Through Sports”.

The final match was played on 14th December 2023 between the Women Veteran Club and Agri Ward Youth, DIPR informed.

Delivering the exhortation, former personal assistant to deputy commissioner Longleng, Bhamak, in his speech highlighted the achievement of women in sports and other fields. He said that the medal tally of the recent Olympic showed that women brought more medals for the country than men. He encouraged women and stated that nothing should stop them from moving forward and achieving their dreams. Bhamak also opined that society should give women the same opportunities as men.

DC Longleng and chairman of BBBP Longleng, Dharam Raj, IAS gave away the trophy to the winners.
