The Kongkhum Range Thangjam is a conglomeration of 5 villages under Noksen sub-division Tuensang, District.The villages under the Union still lack behind in many areas especially in education system and road connectivity. Founded under the abled leadership of L.Tochi as the interim convenor and his colleagues to uplift the most neglected villages around Noksen Division, KRT was established in the year 1998.

The union and five villages through its community’s contribution constructed a seven kms stretch of road connecting to Yimrup village to the other four villages of the range. The memorial road was inaugurated during the 25 years commemoration of the KRT on Friday.

This road is expected to ease transportation for the community in the range and also minimise the time travel in the stretch towards the Tuensang Headquarter by 20-30 km.

The silver jubilee of the KRT was held under the theme “Make known his deeds at the nation” at Yonyu village.

MLA Y.Lima Onen Chang, graced the occasion as the Special Guest and inaugurated the jubilee memorial road. Chang spoke on the essence of unity, which is an important role for the society and encouraged the KRT to always keep the unity amongst the neighbouring villages and community.

Appreciating the Union for the successful constructing of the jubilee memorial road through contribution from the village councils, public and well wishers, Chang urged the gathering to always uphold the unity of the community.

The Silver Jubilee Monolith was dedicated by Ngakusomba, Pastor Yonyu Baptist Lashong.

The celebration was also graced by Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa, NCS Deputy commissioner Tuensang, and Nungsanglamba, President CKS and SDO ©Noksen as the special invitees.
