The Nagaland Basketball women’s team began the 72nd Senior National North East Basketball Championship on a positive note by winning the first match 41-31 against Arunachal Pradesh this morning in Aizawl.
Playing against a tough contender, the Nagaland team came from behind in the second quarter and took lead, continuing to hold on to it until the final whistle. Pelekhonuo Kuotsu scored the highest points with 8 points followed by Lanunechetla and Kenyunyi Keppen right behind her with 7 points each.
The women’s team will be playing their next match tomorrow at 7:30am against Tripura.
The 72nd Senior National Basketball Championship 2022 (First Phase-NE Zonal) will run from 13 to 16 September in Aizawl, Mizoram. The Championship will feature both Men’s and Women’s competitions.
