Shamator Noklak Battalion Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 7 Sector AR/ HQ IGAR (North) in co-ordination with Holy Angel School, Noklak, conducted an awareness programme on ‘Ill Effects of Tobacco’ at Assam Rifle Camp, Noklak on 12 September.

The CMO 14 Assam Rifles while addressing the students and staff, elaborated about the deadly effects of smoking, which causes lung cancer, heart diseases, stroke etc. Further, he gave preventive measures for the effects stating on educational approach, service approach and regularity approach as solution.

He explained the nicotine reaction in human body and brain and how body gets addicted to leads to tobacco. The CMO in conclusion motivated the students to stand on the motto: Learn how to say NO to tobacco and YES to life.
