Abu Metha inaugurates first ever Rengma Sports Association Mini Olympic

Tseminyu: Metha emphasizes importance of sports in fostering unity and resilience within community

The first ever Rengma Sports Association Mini Olympic 2024 was launched on Thursday at RSA Ground in Tseminyu by Advisor to the Chief Minister of Nagaland, Chairman of IDAN, Associate Vice President of the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and Secretary General of the Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA).

The historic moment will witness more than 400 skilled athletes representing the seven ranges under Tseminyu district, converged to showcase their prowess in various sporting disciplines including football, volleyball, basketball, badminton, table tennis, and various athletics events.

Abu Metha, in his speech, emphasized the importance of sports in fostering unity and resilience within the community. The Special Guest also stressed that sports is now not just a mere hobby but a promising career for all hardworking athletes.

Later, in a post on X, Metha hailed the historic occasion and expressed confidence that “the citizens of this new district will continue to make significant contributions in the emergence of Nagaland as a sporting state, apart from all other sectors.”

The Rengma Sports Association Mini Olympic 2024 being held at Tseminyu not only serves as a platform for sporting competition but also symbolizes the spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship.
