Lok Sabha elections 2024: Congress invites suggestions for ‘people’s manifesto’

The Congress Manifesto Committee for Lok Sabha elections 2024 is inviting suggestions from members of the public to corporate into the party’s manifesto which it said will be a “people’s manifesto.

Addressing the media in New Delhi on Wednesday, the Committee’s Chairman P Chidambaram mentioned that there will be three vehicles to gather as much suggestions as possible from people of all walks of life. The first, he said, will be through public consultation which he informed will be held at least once in every State of the country. Such consultations will be organised more than once in some States, he added.

At the media conference, the former union minister, the Convenor of the Committee TS Singh Deo along with senior Congress leader Supriya Shrinate also launched two vehicles – the email and website – where people can send their suggesting. “We sincerely appeal to the people of India to use these vehicles and help us make it a people’s manifesto”, Chidambaram said, while assuring that the Committee will “try to incorporate” in its manifesto.

He also said that a deadline has not been set for the compilation of the Congress Party’s Lok Sabha elections 2024 manifesto but as Chairman, he would like to get it done by 15th February 2024.
