Dr T Ao Football Trophy postponed: Tuensang DPDB

Tuensang: Trails for selection of athletes for Nagaland Olympics on 22nd and 23rd January 2024

The Tuensang District Planning and Development Broad meeting (DPDB) was held under the chairmanship MLA and Chairman DPDB Tuensang, Imtichuba on Friday at Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Tuensang, DIPR informed.

During the meeting the Chairman informed the house that Dr T. Ao Football Trophy has been postponed in view of Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games 2024, which is scheduled to take place from 12 to 17 February 2024.

Meanwhile, on Friday, Deputy Commissioner, Tuensang, Lithrongla Tongpi Rustsa, NCS in a circular informed that the trails for selection of participants (both Men & Women) in Athletes from Tuensang district for the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Game 2024 will be conducted from 22nd and 23rd January 2024 at St. John Higher Secondary School Ground, Tuensang from 10:00 am onwards.

Earlier in the DPDB meeting, the house also discussed regarding the registration of society where MLA Y. Lima Onen Chang suggested that the ADC briefs and guides the society members about the Government guidelines and formalities for registration of societies. He also said that only genuine societies should be forwarded to the government for approval by the house.

Further, Deputy Commissioner Tuensang called for a meeting with the NGOs and stakeholders for the celebration of 76th years of Tuensang Administrative Head Quater at the earliest.

During the meeting, Nagaland Khadi & Village Industries Board highlighted and presented their activities and functions. Fishery department was entrusted to present their departmental activities at the next DPDB meeting.
