Mokokchung College of Teacher Education Yimyu, Mokokchung celebrates 13th Foundation Day

The Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) Yimyu, Mokokchung observed its 13th Foundation Day at the College Auditorium on  February 12 with Thsuvisie Phoji, Deputy Commissioner, Mokokchung as the Special Guest, informed the DPRO Mokokchung.

Speaking on the occasion, Thsuvisie Phoji congratulated the Principal, Faculty and Staff for their sincere and dedicated works performed and the vision they have for the future of the college. Foundation Day is a day to reflect not only at the beginnings of the institution and its founders but also to reflect on the significant development since its inception, said Phoji. Reminiscing about his own life’s journey with its share of struggles and achievements, he encouraged the students to never stop learning in life and to work hard with dedication and commitment to achieve one’s goal. Considering the crucial role played by teachers in shaping the future of society by educating and developing the next generation of leaders, he urged the students to have the ability to inspire and guide the young minds by helping them to discover their passions, talents and purpose and to help them become responsible members of the society. “There is a teacher in all of us, a quality in all of us,” he stated and challenged the students not to leave that vision as they go out of the institution and to continue to hold on to their dreams.

Dr T.Alemla Longkumer, Principal, MCTE highlighted in detail about the background of the college including the wide variety of activities and different programmes and projects conducted in the college. She also highlighted in brief the vision and mission statement of the institution along with its motto.

The program was chaired by Imlikumla, Asst. Prof, MCTE while Bendangnaro spoke on behalf of the 1st Batch of MCTE. A short skit entitled ‘Life of B.Ed Student Teachers” was presented by the 4th semester student teachers while Dr Temsurenla , Vice Principal, MCTE invoked God’s blessing.
