The Nagaland Cabinet has approved the recognition of eight new villages in the state during its meeting on 8th February 2024. Among them are two villages under Wokha district and one each from the districts of Longleng, Shamator, Noklak, Chümoukedima, Niuland and Mon.

These newly established villages that attained approval are:

1. Chingtok Village, Longleng District
2. Kesangwong Village, Shamator District
3. Hanyuk Village, Noklak District
4. Chen Village, Chümoukedima District
5. Hokuto Village, Niuland District
6. Tongtiyan Village, Wokha District
7. Mnyan Village, Wokha District
8. Chaoha Chingha Village, Mon District
