NOPG 2024: Kohima dominates medal tally on Day 5

Chümoukedima: Zunheboto district opens tab on Day 5, wins 9 medals

Kohima district continued to dominate the medal tally on Day 5 of the Nagaland Olympic and Paralympic Games (NOPG) 2024 with 24 gold medals. In total the district has won 54 medals that includes 17 silver and 13 bronze. 20 medals were added to Kohima’s tally on Friday, of which 13 came from Athletic events.

Neiketoulie Belho, who was awarded Best Athlete at the North East Olympic Games 2022, won 2 gold medals for Kohima after coming first in Long Jump with a performance of 6.31m and also in the 4x100m Relay (Men) where his team mates were Kevichütuo Lhoungu, Mhasiletuo Clement Yhome and Meguozotuo Solo. Lhoungu had also come first in the 200m (Men)

Dimapur district is second on the tally with total 35 medals that includes 15 gold, 7 silver and 13 bronze. Phek district is third on the list with total 43 medals including 11 gold, 10 silver and 22 bronze.

Zunheboto district finally opened its tab at the NOPG 2024 on Day 5 by winning 9 medals that included 3 gold, 4 silver and two bronze.

Of the 16 districts, Wokha is now the only one without a gold. The district has 4 silver and 10 bronze medals.
