In connection with the ensuing 18th Lok Sabha Election 2024, a co-ordination meeting with various enforcement agencies was held at DC’s Conference hall on February 23, informed the DIPR.
Chairing the meeting DC Kohima, Kumar Ramnikant IAS highlighted on the menace of liquor and cash flow in the state. He mentioned that in order to curb the liquor menace, the following actions shall be initiated from the date of the notification of elections by setting up of Static Surveillance team (SST). Checking by SST on the major roads or arterial roads shall commence from the date of notification of election and the SSTs shall be controlled by the DEO and SP in consultation with General Observer and Expenditure Observers.

The meeting also decided on the production, off take, stock limits of licensed Stockiest, daily receipt and off take of retail sellers of IMFL/Beer/Country Liquor and opening and closing time of liquor vending shops which will be closely monitored.
