Yimyu, Arkong, and Mongsenbai registered wins on day four of the 5th Mokokchung Inter-ward Football Tournament 2024, played at Imkongmeren Sports Complex on Thursday.

Yimyu, having drawn in its first match with Alempang from Pool A, secured their first win today against Marepkong with a score of 1-0, when Moarenba (Jersey no.12) scored the lone goal in the 7th minute, propelling them into the second position from Pool A with 4 points, while Marepkong suffered their second loss in the tournament.

In the second match of the day, Arkong started their campaign in the tournament today and secured their first win against Penli with a 2-0 victory. Arkong, the inaugural edition winner of the tournament in 2019, displayed their dominance today. Noklensunep (Jersey no.11) scored a brace for Arkong in the 19th and 26th minutes, respectively, despite Penli’s efforts to prevent Arkong from scoring. Penli remains with one draw and one loss in the tournament from Pool B.

In the third match of the day, Mongsenbai also started their campaign in the tournament today and secured their first win with a narrow 1-0 victory over Tongdentsuyong. Longkhoi, wearing jersey number 7, scored the winning goal in the 61st minute, as full time had ended with one minute of additional time. Tongdentsuyong now has one win and one loss in the tournament from Pool C.

Day four of the 5th MIFT will witness matches between Sangtemla and Salangtem at 12:00 PM, followed by Artang versus Yimyu, and Marepkong versus Alempang.
