A day ahead of the declaration of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 schedule, the Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) has reaffirmed that Eastern Nagaland will not participate in any election as unanimously resolves at Chenmoho Village in Mon district on 23rd February 2024.

The resolution states that the people of the region will not participate in any Central or State election if the Government of India through the Ministry of Home Affairs does not finalize the creation of Frontier Nagaland Territory before the declaration of Election Model Code of Conduct to the Lok Sabha 2024.

In Friday’s statement, the ENPO reiterated that it will not give in to any assurances from the MHA and stated that the people of the region “will not be held responsible for any situation that may arise.”

In another notification, ENPO barred individual/ groups from making any statements on the issue during the ongoing ‘Public Emergency’ to prevent any “unnecessary misunderstanding among the people and unconducive environment which may hamper the ongoing talks.”
